Privacy notice
Last updated: 11 September 2026
This notice explains how SearchVella Limited collects and uses personal information when you visit our website, contact us or communicate with us about our business.
1. Who we are
SearchVella Limited is the controller of the personal information described in this notice. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 17436134.
For privacy questions or requests, email hello@searchvella.com or write to our registered office shown below.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- your name, work contact details, organisation and role;
- the contents of enquiries, correspondence and other business communications;
- information needed to discuss, enter into or manage a business relationship;
- technical and security information processed when the website is requested, such as an IP address, browser or device information, requested URL, time and security events.
Please do not send special category or other highly sensitive personal information unless we specifically request it and there is a lawful reason to do so.
3. How and why we use information
| Purpose | Information | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Respond to enquiries and discuss potential work | Contact details and correspondence | Legitimate interests and, where applicable, steps requested before entering a contract |
| Manage client, supplier and partner relationships | Business contact and relationship information | Performance of a contract and legitimate interests |
| Operate, protect and troubleshoot the website | Technical and security information | Legitimate interests in providing a secure and reliable website |
| Meet legal, accounting and regulatory obligations | Relevant contact, transaction and correspondence records | Legal obligation and legitimate interests |
Where we rely on legitimate interests, those interests are communicating with people who contact us, running and developing our business, maintaining appropriate records, and protecting our website and systems. We consider the impact on individuals before relying on this basis.
4. Who receives information
We may share personal information where necessary with:
- website hosting, security, email and other technology service providers;
- professional advisers such as accountants, legal advisers and insurers;
- regulators, courts, law enforcement or public authorities where required by law;
- a purchaser or adviser involved in a proposed sale or restructuring of our business.
Our current website is delivered and protected using Cloudflare, and incoming email may be handled by Cloudflare and our email provider. These providers process information under their contractual and security arrangements. We do not sell personal information.
5. International transfers
Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data protection law requires safeguards, we use an applicable UK adequacy regulation or approved contractual safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to standard contractual clauses. You may contact us for further information.
6. How long we keep information
General enquiries that do not lead to a business relationship are normally kept for up to 24 months after our last meaningful contact. Records connected with clients, suppliers, contracts, payments or legal obligations may normally be kept for up to six years after the relevant relationship or transaction ends, and longer where law or an active dispute requires it. Security records are retained for the period reasonably necessary to investigate incidents and protect the website, taking account of our providers' configured retention periods.
7. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct or erase your information, restrict its use, object to its use, or receive certain information in a portable format. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent.
You have the right to object to processing based on our legitimate interests and to object at any time to the use of your information for direct marketing.
To exercise a right, contact us at hello@searchvella.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
8. Complaints
Please contact us first so we can try to resolve your concern. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office. Information about making a complaint is available at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
9. Other information
You are not required by law to provide information when making a general enquiry, but without relevant contact details and information about your request we may be unable to respond. We do not use the information covered by this notice to make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
10. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice when our website, services or use of personal information changes. The date above shows when it was last updated.
